Rubbish removal questions, answered
Short, straight answers. Can’t see yours? Send us a message and we’ll reply, usually the same day.
General
How do you price a job?
We price by how much space your waste takes up in the van, from £60 for a small load to £240 for a full van, including loading and licensed disposal. Send photos or book online and we confirm a fixed price before we start; if there’s less than expected, you pay less.
Can you collect today?
Sometimes. Collections are often same or next day, depending on our schedule, across West Bromwich, Oldbury, Smethwick and the rest of Sandwell. Send your request early in the day and we’ll tell you the soonest slots we can offer.
Do I need to be home?
No, not if we can get to the waste. Leave it outside, in a garage or with a key safe or neighbour, and we’ll send photos when we’ve finished.
Do you provide a waste transfer note?
Yes, every collection comes with a waste transfer note, emailed after the job. It records what we took and our carrier registration CBDU646050, which is your proof that you met your legal duty of care.
What happens to my rubbish?
We reuse or recycle over 90% of what we collect. Loads are sorted at licensed transfer stations: good furniture goes to charity, and metal, wood, cardboard, green waste and electricals are recycled. Only what can’t be recovered goes to general waste.
Are you cheaper than a skip?
For most household jobs, yes. Our price includes the loading, there’s no permit or hire period, and you only pay for the space you use. For large amounts of heavy rubble a skip can work out cheaper, and we’ll tell you if so.
Do you take fridges, mattresses or paint?
We take fridges, freezers and mattresses, which carry a small extra charge for specialist recycling. We can take empty or dried-out paint tins, but not liquid paint, which your council recycling centre accepts.
Do you clear commercial premises?
Yes. We clear offices, shops, units and building sites, at times agreed around your business, and every job comes with a waste transfer note for your records. Regular customers can open a trade account with monthly invoicing.
What areas do you cover?
We’re based in Sandwell and cover the Black Country and Birmingham. That’s every Sandwell town, including West Bromwich, Oldbury, Smethwick, Wednesbury, Tipton, Rowley Regis, Cradley Heath, Blackheath, Old Hill, Great Barr, Bearwood, Langley, Tividale, Hill Top, Friar Park, Great Bridge, plus Birmingham, Dudley, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Kingswinford, Sedgley, Bilston, Willenhall, Darlaston, Handsworth, Harborne, Quinton, Edgbaston, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull, Aldridge and Coseley. We often travel further for larger clearances, so ask if you’re not sure.
Are you a licensed waste carrier?
Yes. Jansco is registered with the Environment Agency as a waste carrier, registration number CBDU646050, and holds a scrap metal collector’s licence (26/000141/SMDC) from Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. You can check our registration on the Environment Agency public register.
What can’t you take?
We can’t take asbestos, gas bottles, liquid paints, oils, solvents, chemicals, clinical waste or anything explosive. These need specialist disposal; your council recycling centre accepts most household hazardous items.
How do I pay?
You pay once the job is done, by card, bank transfer or cash. Businesses can be invoiced. We never ask for payment upfront for standard collections.
How quickly will you reply to my message?
We reply, usually the same day. Enquiries answered 7 days a week, usually the same day.
Scrap metal collection
Is scrap metal collection free?
Often, yes. Loads that are metal only are usually collected free because the metal is recycled. Mixed loads with other rubbish are priced by load size, from £60.
Do you pay for scrap metal?
Sometimes, for larger loads of valuable metal such as copper or brass. By law we can’t pay cash: any payment is by bank transfer or cheque, and we must see photo ID.
What metal can’t you take?
We can’t take gas bottles, fire extinguishers, anything containing oil, fuel or other fluids, or items with asbestos. Fridges and freezers need degassing, so they are priced separately: ask us for a quote.
Ready to clear it?
